Q magazine are bitches

Hello readers,
So today I'm feeling mighty peeved on account of I bought this month's edition (June 2011) of Q magazine. The Arctic Monkeys made the cover, but other headings on the cover featured the Strokes. The headline featuring a quote by Julian: 'They'd Stab Me to Get to the Top' (in the actual interview he followed that with "I'm joking." but obviously they wouldn't pay that any attention.) and below it read "The Strokes, Their Most Explosive Interview Ever". I bought the thing and read the article on the bus ride back home. By the time I got off the bus, I was right well mad at  While the spread includes some great pictures, the whole thing is utter bullshit! They interviewed each member separately, and they all seemed well gentleman like. I was actually impressed at their politeness considering Q asks some pretty personnel questions. Obviously though, Q magazine must make them out to be total assholes. By the sounds of it, Julian had initially refused to partake in the interview but later reconsidered and decided to do a phone interview. The article gives the impression that Julian is a complete dickhead and the cause for all the problems in the band. The interview leaves readers thinking the Strokes are a band full of hatred and backstabbing.

I wonder if Q has even ever heard a Strokes album. Here's how I see it: the situation between the Strokes may very well be total shit, perhaps they hate each other and being in a band. But, they make awemazing music, so who are we to get involved in their personnel lives! Sure I love knowing stuff about the band, it makes me feel more connected to them, but all I really care about it the music. I mean, Q magazine is practically saying you shouldn't listen to the band on account of theres tension. Who cares if they're all total jerks? They're bloody genuises when it comes to music!!
Ah well I could  go on for ages. This is the media, what can you expect? All I'm really trying to say is that Q magazine should let people listen to their music and then make up their minds about the band. I really hope no one skipped out on listening to the Strokes because they saw an article in Q that made them sound like dickheads. For those who have heard the Nardwuar interview in 2001 with Julian and Nick, they say the same thing (they don't want people making their minds up about what kind of a band they are until they hear the music).
